CARTERET COUNTY PUBLIC LIBRARY
Strategic Plan
I'm currently working on the library's first strategic plan since leaving a regional system. In addition to the challenges of standing up a new county system during a pandemic, CCPL has many opportunities at hand, including new leadership and strong stakeholder support.
MOORESEVILLE PUBLIC LIBRARY
Atmosphere Assessment
I am currently assessing the main library's layout, signage, fixtures, and furnishings. I will present the findings to leadership, followed by a UX basics workshop with staff.
RANDOLPH COUNTY PUBLIC LIBRARIES
I facilitated RCPL's first-ever strategic plan, which featured a high degree of staff and stakeholder involvement. The plan included a new mission, vision, and values statement, as well as four strategic priorities. The plan - and the process - laid the foundation for a number of successful initiatives, from going fine-free to rebranding and renaming to embedded social workers.
CHARLOTTE MECKLENBURG LIBRARY
Staff Training & Development
In 2020, I spent two days training the CML Circulation Services staff on creating delightful library environments and the basics of book discovery, including my popular "Better Book Displays" session. Before that, I spoke at the CML Youth Services retreat on customer service and user experience.
RANDOLPH COUNTY COMMUNITY COLLEGE LIBRARY
User Experience Assessment
I was hired to bring a "fresh eyes" assessment to the library, focusing on layout, furniture, fixtures, signage, etc. This assessment was one of the library's strategies to make the case to stakeholders for short and long term improvements.
